Production Manager



Job Purpose:

Plans, organizes, directs, develops, and supervises Area Leaders and Line Leaders on daily operations.

Assists Director of Manufacturing in the development, implementation and evaluation of company objectives, programs, policies, and procedures pertaining to GMP.

Responsibilities include:

  • Plans, directs, and leads manufacturing departments. Manages entire production floor regarding planning and execution of daily schedule.

  • Focuses on achieving daily production KPIs which include but not limited to Safety, Quality, schedule attainment, OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) and direct operating expenses management.  

  • Leads the lean and continuous improvement initiative implementation efforts (Kaizen events, 5s, CEDAC, TPM, SMED, Mistake Proofing, Poka Yoke, Redzone modules) along with the Area Leaders, High Performance Work Teams and any other cross functional team members.

  • Conducts Daily Vital Signs meeting along with the Director of Manufacturing to spearhead the Operations Team regarding Safety, Quality, Planning, Warehouse, Engineering, line performance, daily KPIs (daily FG and WIP completions vs targets, daily cost), arising issues, and priority adjustments.

  • Adheres to and enforces Company policies, procedures, programs and performance standards with all written SOPs and Company documents.

  • Establishes and maintains proper staffing levels for all Production departments.

  • Trains, develops, and evaluates Team Members. Ensures that the training tools/methods established for each worker during training and orientation is validated in writing.

  • Enforces Production Standards as well as QA and Maintenance Standards.

  • Ensures proper receiving, storing, and handling of all incoming and outgoing bulks, components and finished goods on the production area.

  • Prepares and reviews written evaluations of workers in a professional manner providing specific results on goals and performance.

  • Provides workers with routine counseling, discipline and constructive criticism as needed to maximize desired performance.

Education and Experience:

  • 5-10 years of relevant professional experience.

  • Lean Manufacturing knowledge and implementation experience.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs (Outlook, Excel and Word) is required

  • Strong Leadership abilities and initiative to perform the responsibilities described above.

  • Self-motivated; Ability to work independent of supervision.

  • Excellent organizational, planning and time management skills.

  • Reliability, high sense of urgency while resolving issues.

  • Customer focused; Must be flexible in dealing with others in the organization, and with work assignments/projects.
