Originally from Lima, Peru, Marco Castro is a multi-disciplinary artist specializing in beauty, filmmaking, and creative direction.

Castro is a self-proclaimed minimalist that has worked side by side with Francois Nars for almost 20 years. His film and makeup work explores ideas of immigration, sexuality, brownness and loves to promote diversity through his choice of under-represented faces.

Castro’s collaborators include Pedro Almodóvar, Larry Clark, and Nan Goldin and a long list of clients such as Willy Chavarria, Calvin Klein, Apple, Nike, Nars, Surratt, Office Magazine, CR Fashion Book, Vogue, and I-d magazine.

Castro’s short films have garnered awards and nominations at over 30 film festivals worldwide, including Palm Springs, Berlin Commercial, and San Diego, among others .
